“Lifetime Care” — Terms & Conditions

Summary (not a substitute for the full terms): Complimentary labour for light maintenance (e.g., inspection, tightening, re-polishing, and, where feasible, one resize). Materials, parts, shipping, taxes, duties, and major repairs are chargeable. Coverage is for the original owner, for the usable life of the piece while Redbutan offers the program. Misuse, loss/theft, third-party work, and heavy/impact damage are excluded. Nothing here limits rights you cannot waive under the laws that apply to you.
1) What “Lifetime Care” means

“Lifetime” means the serviceable life of the jewelry under normal use and for as long as Redbutan continues to offer the Lifetime Care program and has reasonable parts/skills available.

“Care” means complimentary labour for light maintenance (see Clause 3). It is not an insurance policy, warranty, or replacement plan.
2) Who and what is eligible

Jewelry must be made by Redbutan, purchased from Redbutan or an authorized Redbutan partner.

The piece must carry its serial/HUID/RB code and pass Redbutan authentication.

Coverage is for the original private purchaser only and is not transferable (including gifts and resales), unless Redbutan agrees in writing.

Proof of purchase (invoice + serial) is required. Redbutan may request photos/videos to pre-screen eligibility.

Counterfeit, altered, or stolen items are ineligible; Redbutan may retain/notify authorities where legally required.
3) What we do at no labour charge
Subject to inspection and feasibility:

Professional inspection & ultrasonic cleaning.
-
Tightening of stones and minor prong checks/adjustments.

Re-polishing / satin refresh for surface micro-scratches (note: polishing removes a thin layer of metal; see Clause 7).

Rhodium re-plating for white-gold pieces where appropriate.

One complimentary resize (ring/bracelet/chain) within ±2 sizes if the design allows (eternity/micro-pavé full-coverage bands, tension settings, complex lattice, or NFC-embedded areas often cannot be resized).

Minor clasp/jump-ring solder where feasible.
Fair-use limits: Re-polishing: up to once per 12 months per piece. Rhodium: up to once per 12 months. Complimentary resize: one time per piece. Additional services may be offered at Redbutan’s then-current rates.
4) What is not covered (common exclusions)

Loss, theft, mysterious disappearance, or damage in transit to Redbutan.

Impact, crush, bend, drop, heat, chemical, or liquid damage; exposure to pools/saunas, cosmetics, perfumes, ultrasonic machines at home, or abrasive cleaning.

Chipped, cracked, abraded, or lost gemstones; re-setting or stone replacement (chargeable if available).
-
Wear-through of prongs, heavy metal loss, deep dents/deformations, broken shanks, snapped chains from tension/impact.
-
Third-party work (any alteration, engraving, setting, plating, resizing, repair) done outside Redbutan—this voids Lifetime Care for that piece.

Commercial or rental use, or abnormal/intentional damage.

Cosmetic outcomes (exact colour/shine of polishing/plating; micro-scratches returning with wear).
-
Items marked final, archive, experimental, one-of-one prototype, or pieces where service is technically unsafe or impossible.
5) What may incur a charge

Materials and parts (stones, metal additions, prongs, clasps, chains, screws, NFC tags, specialty coatings).

Major repairs, re-setting, restoration, or structural work.

Inbound shipping/insurance to our service centre, international return shipping, and any customs, duties, taxes, brokerage.

Appraisals, third-party certifications, and loss reports.
-
Extra services beyond fair-use limits.
Redbutan will provide a quotation for chargeable items. Work begins only after your approval and payment.
6) How to use Lifetime Care (service process)

Contact concierge for a Service Authorization (SA) number and packing instructions.
-
Ship the piece to the designated service centre. You are responsible for safe packing, inbound insurance, and customs export/import. Risk of loss passes to Redbutan only when we sign for delivery.

Inspection & estimate. If the piece is ineligible or unsafe to service, we may return it unrepaired (shipping at your cost).

Turnaround time is an estimate only; delays may occur due to customs, sourcing, or complexity.

We return the piece via insured courier (India: Redbutan-paid return shipping for eligible Care; International: charged at cost unless stated otherwise).
7) Important care realities (disclaimers)

Polishing thins metal and may soften edges or affect micro-engraving; repeat polishing shortens lifespan.
-
Resizing may leave a discreet join line or require design adjustments; some designs cannot be resized.
-
Plating naturally wears off; cadence depends on wear, pH, and environment.
-
We may decline any service that risks the integrity or value of the piece.
-
Pre-existing conditions and normal wear will remain visible if you choose not to authorize chargeable restoration.
8) Programme changes and termination
Redbutan may change, suspend, or end Lifetime Care at any time. Changes apply prospectively. Services already accepted/quoted will be honoured per that quote. Ending the program does not affect your non-excludable legal rights.
9) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Redbutan’s total liability for any claim relating to Lifetime Care or service on a piece is limited to the lesser of (a) the amount you paid for that service (if any), or (b) the original purchase price of the piece.

Redbutan is not liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential losses (including loss of use, data, profits, or opportunity).

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10) Consumer-law rights
Some countries/states provide rights and remedies that cannot be excluded (e.g., statutory guarantees). Nothing here limits those non-waivable rights.
11) Anti-fraud, sanctions & compliance
We may refuse service where doing so would violate sanctions, export controls, or local law. We may require KYC/ID for high-value pieces and may withhold/retain items suspected to be counterfeit or stolen when required by law.
12) Privacy
We handle personal data under our Privacy Notice. Service communications may include photos/records of your piece for authentication, insurance, and quality control.
13) Governing law & dispute resolution
These terms are governed by Indian law. Courts at Surat, Gujarat have exclusive jurisdiction. Disputes may, at Redbutan’s election, be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in Surat, in English, before a sole arbitrator; the arbitral award may be enforced by the Surat courts.
